Need some DM help.

That would be a big help. Now we allow SOME 3.5 material. I think we allow the complete books and unearthed arcana. Maybe 1 or 2 others. But ive read most of them and still dont recognize his spells. It will be a few days before i can get his build to you due to school so please check back in here wensday or thursday. Your alls helps is very much appreciated :).

Give him some drawbacks to balance it out if he wants to keep the character.

I have some pretty powerful PCs in some campaigns, but few well placed drawbacks can make all the difference. Want to keep the AC? Sure thing, but you'll faint at the sight of blood. Keep the fire resistance? Alright, but you'll be vulnerable to cold.

Always worked.

Hey. I found the books he is using. He is using the pathfinder ones of course. But he is also using races of the dragon,Complete arcane, unearthed arcane and the spell compedium. Im thinking of removing the splee compendium. What do you think guys?

I wouldn't. But make it a rule that every spell not from the normal list needs to be referenced, or better yet, copy pasted onto a special spell sheet. Otherwise it is about impossible to keep track.

Yeah I agree. I just suck at caster play so I have a hard time understanding the limitation of spells. Part of the problem is I started the party of with a NO arcane restiction. I told them later I mwould let them multiclass or give them an arcane follower when it seemed appropriate in our low arcane world. He showed up at a session and asked if he could jump in. I asked what he was. He said he was a dwarf with a battle hammer and armor. I assumed that meant a fighter. So even though I knew he was a major min maxor the other martial players arent too shabby so I figured it would be ok. I didnt even know he was a caster until he cast his first spell.... then he just laughed and said he hadnt lied to me.
This is a great learning opportunity for you, I think :).

Lessons:
1) If someone shows up at the table with a character, take a look at it first.
2) If a known min-maxer shows up at the table with a character, take a very hard look at it first.
3) Make it well-known to players that your rules are rules, not wishes. (None of this "I wish he'd create a new character": it's your game, if you tell him to create a new character, that's what he does, or he leaves.) You put a no-arcane limit in effect, and that stands. His sneaky trick is totally irrelevant to the rule.

How to fix this? I'd contact him immediately, reiterate the no-arcane rule, and tell him that he'll need to send you a no-arcane character sheet before next session if he'd like to keep playing. Apologize for the confusion if you want--I would, but it's not necessary.

Or you could be a jerk and enforce the rule he knows about. You said no arcane, so any arcane spells he tries to cast don't work. That's not something I'd do, but it'd be tempting not to remind him about the rule until he tries to cast a spell.

Also, can you check the Pathfinder SRD to see if any of his spells or equipment or powers are listed here? I'm really curious, and am almost certain he's misinterpreting things (e.g., not noticing that the magnetic power affects unattended objects, or something).

Yeah I wish he would make a new char...

I can't comment on the other books being used since I don't know them (I'm sure there'll be people in here who do before too long), but as for what I quoted...

Don't just wish. You're the GM, so make it happen.

You're a part of this game too. If they're making it not fun for you then either they need to change what they're doing, or you need to say "Hey guys, I'm not really having fun running this campaign, so let's start something new." Because yes, it's the GM's job to help make things fun for the players. That doesn't mean you have to tolerate stupid stuff like what they're doing that makes the game less fun for you.

Hey. I need some help as a dm. Ive Dm'd a few times and have been a player a lot but usually my groups dont stick together to long due to work etc etc. I finally got a working group going in my low magic campaign and then....someone snuck a wizard in. Now usually it wouldnt even be a problem. You know wizard. Squishy guy right? No....He is a dwarven earth fire wizard who has a base ac of 22 and no arcane spell failure chance. He is a fire dwarf so he also has fire resistance 15 and gets to ad +1 to the dc of all his fire spells. Really the only way I have ever managed to challange casters is get in there face with some melee. This guy can dish out and take damage almost as well as a fighter 2 lvls lower than him self AND is an optimized wizard. So now with him on board I have trouble challenging the whole party. Help please?
Casters(all of them) have a very big advantage in low magic games. They can just cast spell, while everyone else needs magic items to be affective.
I think that dwarf is using 3.5 material or breaking some rules. I would post his stats here.

Well I certainly learned my lesson. I have no problems with any other players. In fact I helped them construct their characters to be effective fun and ...not broken. I mean I even made the ranger take skirmisher so she wouldn't have spells(The original 3 came from a po dunk village that hadn't even SEEN magic in 100 years.).I think I will take this as an opportunity though. As said before I suck with casters. I suck playing them and I dont really get how they work well enough to fight them 1 on 1. So I will now expand my anti caster knowledge by experimenting on him :). Maybe some camoed rogue snipers and a few of my own pit traps will give him second thoughts about wearing all that armor. I already used the anti magic field gimmic once and I wont be a hypocrit by using a whole lot of magic to stop him. A little here a little there. I mean I wont be in a low magic world forever so I need to get better at adapting. But I will remind him that he violated my rules and any further stretching will result in a character kill and EXTREME limits on his next char. Thanks so much for the advice everyone! You all are big help in saving our worl of incarnium :)!

He has everything from 2 different types of instant pit spells to a magnetic spell that lets him rip armor right of of fighters. According to the spell it has a magnetic pull up to 3000 pounds.
That spell does exist in any book that is PF or 3.5.

I think now is the time to come up with codified rules.
Giving a race immunity to fire or most anything else is normally a bad idea.
