I've always liked elvish sorcerers because of the longbow/rapier/shswd/longbow/shortbow thing. It really improves their combat prowess...especially with True Strike.
But you wanted exotic...
If you've got access to the XPH, consider this: all of the races introduced within are natural psionics, and as such, will eventually let you qualify for the Pyrokinetic PrCl...without ever taking a single level in a psionic class. A few levels of that will let you cast firebolts at will, have flaming weapons, summon a flaming whip, and so forth. Sorcerer/Pyrokineticist is NASTY...especially if you give him Alchemy skills to add firebombs to his repetoir.
In particular:
A half-giant Sorcerer could use weapons of size class L, due to their Powerful Build characteristic. So even if he only uses the normal complement of Simple weapons, he could usea a large one...1d10 Morningstar or 1d12 Hvy crossbow sound nice?
A githzerai Sorcerer would have a GREAT dex bonus. Hard to hit = hard to kill.
A Thri-Kreen Sorcerer's multiple arms, natural AC and uncanny movement abilities would also make it quite the threat.
And so on...
