Need to name an ancient group of heroes

NewJeffCT

First Post
I was going to reference an ancient group of heroes of several different goodly deities that aligned to defeat the plans of the evil god of slavery & tyranny, the Overlord, many ages ago...

One deity was a C/G nature deity that is popular among rangers and/or elves and is patterned after Diana or Artemis.

Another deity was the C/G opposite of the god of slavery & tyranny - a champion of freedom and obviously opposed to slavery.

And, another is a N/G deity that is popular among all travelers and those going on any sort of journey, as those making the journey will often pray to Him for protection on their journey.

However, as has been happening lately, I can't come up with a decent name for this group that once formed to thwart the evil god of slavery & tyranny...

It was more like when they visit a sage, and he will relate to the PCs something like, "ages ago, before even the elves were a young race, the Overlord had implemented a plan to enslave the entire world under His thumb. It was only due to the uniting of champions of these three good gods that his plans were stopped. It seems the Overlord again has plans to enslave the entire world, and it may require new champions to stop His evil plans..."

Any ideas? The Terrific Trio or The Triumvirate just doesn't seem right. Maybe something that works with Triumvirate or Trinity?

Thanks

Hi Jeff!

Lately I tend to use former PCs for these things... Aladar Untouchable and Shelri Deathdancer from the campaign in my sig are two favorites (they are having a cameo appearance in my stargate campaign right now with the whole Coin of Evil group).

So you use the Guardian, the Huntress and the Traveler? In my current campaign I added Risk (for fun, he's just the coolest god) and the Joker. These five gods are soooo good for having interplanar/dimensional fun.

Well, if I were you, I'd use some old names of PCs of your group. My players love these nostalgic memories.

Guardian clerics are good for sword & board fighting... the huntress is a ranger dude type and the Traveler... well.

The Wandering Blades from the West?

Thanks... unfortunately, this group is an entirely new one that I put together when I moved from eastern CT to western CT. So, there is no "in game" history for them from previous campaigns. I've dropped a few names from my previous Kalamar campaigns to them, but they have no clue who the great elf bladesinger Kwellyn Tiamarran was, or the mighty ranger Prentiss, and the elf couple Vatus & Kalara, with the wandering cleric of the Traveler Rennisan from Reaanaria, or the halfling William Longroots and how they defeated a pit fiend who had taken the form of Emperor Kabori. However, I used those names out of laziness on my part.

The Three Blank Slates of Goodness?

Triune Brotherhood

Triadic Lodge

The Third Order

Eyes of the Pyramid (their salute/greeting would be forming a triangle with the hands and gazing through the gap with their right eye)

Pets & Sidekicks
