OOC: To save the DM time, here is a description of Aniel he sent me in email... "When you look up, there is a stunningly beautiful half elf woman standing in front of you. She is wearing a green traveling cloak with brown trim and her rich auburn hair frames a soft and fair face"

Enoch notices the interplay between Aniel and Gurter but looks away as if he didn't notice anything, a bit of color coming to his cheek. But at Anna's comment he looks up again, a smirk coming over his face.

He then thinks a second, walks to the center of the group, and says "Before I turn my key, would anyone care to pray with me for protection and luck on the journey ahead of us?"

Gurter smiles a mysterious smile back to Aniel. He is not new to this sort of thing and is quite aware of the rest following Aniel's gaze. "We're looking forward to seeing you again. After all, who does not want to be in the presence of such a beautiful and refined lady..."

Then Gurter retrieves his key to the not so observant bystanders out of thin air and walks up to the Vault door to insert his key as well, but stops in his motion when the call for a prayer is made. His many travels have made him rather respectful towards the Gods, as an enraged priest is not something to have as an adversary, and therefor folds his hands together, while the key seems to disappear into nothingness, as he says with spirit "I'll join you!"

He then waits for Enoch to begin his prayer.

"Good idea." Anna kneels beside Enoch, holding the unicorn symbol of her goddess.

"My lady Ehlonna, I pray that you watch over my companions and I as we venture into this vault. May your light suffuse the dark places so we may see, your wisdom guide our path so we do not fall, and your love keep us from evil." Anna bows her head for a moment, then glances over at Enoch, awaiting his prayer.

Enoch respectfully bows his head and hesitantly places his hand on Anna's shoulder as she offers her prayer to Ehlonna.

He smiles at Anna, Gurter, and any others who join the prayers but shows no rancor do those who choose not to do so. Enoch kisses his holy symbol, clutches it to his chest, and raises his voice.

"Fharlanghn, Dweller on the Horizon, grant your servant a steady hand and watchful eye - that I may shelter those who bear me company from the evils and calamities that may await us on our journey. Guide me to do your will and use your gifts for others' need. Help us to keep our minds open and accepting, and to fully experience the beauty and wonder of our pilgrimage. Protect us all and lead us safely to our destinies."

After finishing the prayer Enoch walks over to the door and turns his key in a lock.

He then steps back and positions himself right behind a front line (if one forms up) or right behind the final key turner if there is no front line. He holds his quarterstaff in his left hand (the arm the buckler is attached to) and holds his holy symbol in his right hand.

After the door is revealed, Eseteru retreats to his usual position, leaning in the corner, watching the party and the room. He listens to all the pretty speeches, and silently (and discreetly) rolls his eyes at all the praying.

Finally, "Let's see what's in there then, eh? Hope it's worth three months of travel."

After the prayers have been said, Gurter confidently retrieves his key behind Enoch ear while smiling to the rest and places his key in the appropiate keyhole.

Click…. Click…. Click…. Click…. Click…. Click…. Click….. The seven keys find their perspective locks and the bars slide back unlocking the door. With a little effort Hawk and Ton pull the door open. Air is sucked in through the opening, as the decades-long seal is finally broken. You can see a faint flicker of light approximately one hundred feet ahead. The walls and floor are smooth, made of solid stone, and show the marks of superior craftsmanship, Ton can tell no hands but a dwarves could work stone so well. You hear only the sound of your companion’s breathing.

Through the dim light you can see what looks like a 4 way intersection about 30-40 feet ahead. The unknown light source is somewhere straight ahead.
