How would you handle two horsemen with a net between them trying to entangle a character on the battlefield? Would it be something like an overrun, or a touch attack? All sorts of options are running through my head, so I wondered if this knowledgeable group had ideas.
I suppose the easiest thing is to treat it like a zero-distance ranged attack. That is, still a "ranged touch attack", attackers get benefit of Dexterity, etc. (A DM who turned this into a "melee touch attack" would be reasonable, too.)
If all you want to do is have them try to use the net to entangle, then I would say that one of the riders would make the actual touch attack attempt while the other made an assist. I would require ride checks from both though. And they would draw AoOs.
