[Netflix] Dept Q (SPOILERS)

I'm tired of the broken-up and divorced detective cliché, but the way it's brought up and intertwined with the intrigue works for me. Four episodes in, and we will be watching two more tonight and finish the 9 episodes Friday evening.

My wife is a big fan of the books and has talked them up for years. The novels are nordic noir. The show switched the location to Edinburgh for some reason. We’ve watched the first two and she’s mostly onboard.

Finished watching it last night. Having 9 episodes instead of the usual 8 allowed for more satisfactory character development. One thread was resolved, but the other was left open. Nice set up for a season two if Netflix gives the go-ahead.

Akam rules. They all rule in the end.

We just finished the last episode. It was a really good resolution. A bit gorier than I like for a detective show, but then most of the Nordic and Tartan Noir stuff might as well be mystery-horror with how gruesome some of it can be. I hope they get another series.
