New 4E ad causing problems

In a couple days I'll add the code that allows community supporters to disable the ads. Those of you who have a community supporter account have no right to complain in my opinion - the display of that ad is how this site pays its bills.

Huh? That sentence somehow doesn't parse? The supporters can soon deactivate it and have no right to complain about it? Or did you means those without community supporter account? *scratch* (no dig on you - just genuine confusion)

And if you DO implement the code, can you leave an option for the top ad? Because I actually do not mind the top ad.

That was indeed what I meant.

Each ad position will have a toggle of it's own. They can be enabled or disabled in any combination.

For those using Firefox: right click on the ad and unselect the play option, it gets less annoying and distracting.

Thats good. I actually like the top ad as it lets me keep up with new things. The side ad I can't wait to turn off.

It's weird, but I'm glad to see the ads running - it means more money in Morrus' pocket to keep EN World going. As far as I'm concerned, that's a good thing.

I just wish the banner ads weren't BRIGHT WHITE!!!!. Even a light gray background would suffice to keep the eyes from burning out of their sockets from the contrast of black EN World + WHITE!!!.

Well, even though I apparently have no right to complain, I came to the meta forum for the first time to do just that . It's ugly and kinda overbearing and squishes up the page. Yuk.

That said, I completely understand the need for ads and as a non-community supporting freeloader I guess I shouldn't grumble. But there you have it.

Actually, when I saw the mention of code that allows community supporters to turn ads off, I considered becoming one. Can't really afford it, but you may end up getting some extra community supporters out of the sheer annoyance factor of the side-banner

Ah, I didn't even notice. I have NoScript, a program which keeps the flash from running. For me, it's just a static white ad saying "Keep on the Shadowfell. Get your hands on it." It looks fine to me.

What does it look like to everyone else?
