D&D General New Baldur's Gate III Teaser Trailer

Larian Studios posted a teaser trailer for Baldur's Gate III on Twitter, showing off both apparent cutscene and gameplay footage.

The trailer ends with the statement "Join us on the road to Baldur's Gate Starting June 6" This date is the first date of the Guerrilla Collective Indie Game Showcase, taking place online from June 6-8. Larian Studios is a participant in the event and previously promised Baldur's Gate III news at the showcase. This statement lends further credence to industry speculation that the big announcement will be the date of early access, and it may hint that early access will start on June 6. But it looks like we still have another week before we know for sure.

That did not instill hype and/or excitement for me. The spell effects were horrendous and that statue fall was laughably (and cringey) bad. I get this is early stuff and will doubtlessly improve....but yeesh.

I'll credit them for showing something honest though.

Maybe I'll try it if someone gives me a game key, but certainly will not give money for it. Shame. Looks very nice :/

I will probably have a look at it but I still think it's Divinity Original Sin 3 and not Baldur's Gate 3. I simply can't get used to 3D. I also did not enjoy the DOS stories, characters, world, etc. Hopefully I'll be positively surprised.

This definitely looks like Original Sin 3. But I loved Original Sin 1-2, with over 1,000 hours between the two of them.

Honestly my biggest concern is just keeping the turns quick. Things were pretty slow in the E3 footage, and these are action shots that don't show the length of time between turns.

I'm all in. I watched some of the demo footage and - outside of some stuff that needs refining visually - I think they have a great D&D game here. I'm looking forward to it.
