New campaign with Pirate theme

kobold

First Post
After a long hiatus from gaming, and coupled with a move far from my old gaming buddies I want to try and get it back again. This will be my second try at getting my gaming mojo back.
I've not setled on a system yet, will likely be:
Heroquest (not the boardgame) this is my prefered choice
True20 as pulled from BlueRose
Castles and Crusades
These based on speed of combat. I found 3 &3.5 to just keep getting slower.
I have a huge stack of Dungeon mags and a few ideas and a handfull of maps and very limited time.
I want to use preprinted adventures and string them togeather as a campaign- Country of origin vs. the rising and gathering pirate nation bent on godly vengence aganst said country of origin. this big plot will be slowly leaked tru the adventures.
Can folks help with a list of printed Dungeon or otherwise adventures that I can string togeather. they need to be adventurers against pirates or similar vein, such as isle of dread type.
thanks
Andy

Dunno about Dungeon, but some pirate or pirate-like adventures are:

The U-series of modules for AD&D (Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh, Danger at Dunwater, and a third one whose name I can't recall) were nautically themed. They involved unraveling a conspiracy that lead to threat of invasion, though pirates weren't specifically the bad guys. It wouldn't be too hard to link the bad guys to your pirate nation, or replace them, and the three modules are really excellent.

The A-series of modules, also AD&D (the Slave Lords modules) involved a slavery ring that terrorized a large stretch of coastline in Greyhawk, with the adventurers eventually tracking them to their secret citadel. Not too much actual nautical adventure, but the locations and plotline should be usable.

Freeport, by Green Ronin for d20, is a pirate city. I haven't read many of the supplements and adventures myself, but it gets great reviews. It looks like Black Sails Over Freeport, a big adventure with chaos, war, and pirate treasure, might be right up your alley. There's a bunch of free downloads available, including at least one adventure, on Green Ronin's website:

Skull and Bones, also published by Green Ronin for d20, is a set of rules for pirate-horror campaigning using d20 rules. A lot of good sourcebook-type stuff for pirate campaigning, but only one adventure in the main book, so maybe not what you're looking for. I mention it only because it's far too good not to mention in any thread on pirate gaming ;) . There's a bunch of cool maps and a free adventure available for download:

There's also an online magazine which has lots of stuff that you may find worth yoinking:
