New Cloak and Dagger series announced

Freeform, formerly ABC Family is doing a live action series featuring "an interracial romance between two teenagers who acquire super powers while falling in love"

The target audience for the cable network is "millennials" which is kinda concerning, although I suppose CW has done okay bringing Flash to the same demographic.

I like the Cloak and Dagger duo (I was in my late teens when I first discovered them, so fit the demographic) and with the assassinate the maggia/war on drugs they have an interesting vibe to them - Cloak should also appeal the vampire noir crowd I suppose. It will also be interesting if they feature the Power Pack and do crossovers with Kingpin (ie Daredevil), Spiderman and Dr Strange.

So what do you guys think of the news, are you excited, mildly interested, or groaning with superhero fatigue?

The only exposure that I have to Cloak and Dagger is seeing them appear to kill enemies while playing the Maximum Carnage Spiderman game (for the SNES, IIRC). However, since it doesn't require a Netflix subscription I'll probably give at least the first couple of episodes a shot.

The original storyline is pretty dark, and I suspect they'd have to tidy it up a bit to use it in this form.

I am wondering if they will stick to the original origin? Sole survivors of a new experimental synthetic drug made by drug dealers (thus possible ties to Kingpin). Maybe use Daredevil as the superhero whom aids them instead of Spider-man.

And I know this is stupid to say, but will they still Dagger's outfit that defies logic and always conceals........ "Bad Andy! Bad! Go sit in the corner and rethink your sinful ways "

I promise you, I will never groan with superhero fatigue.
That said it's Cloak & Dagger. So meh. I don't dislike them, I just don't care about them. Never have. But someone does so I'm happy for them & hope the shows good.
