New "confessions" article

Am I the only one that is truly interested in seeing if 4E CAN teach players how to be DMs?

Seriously, this has GOT to be the biggest thing about 4E that has me interested. I want to be a player again but pretty much everyone at my table doesn't feel up to the challenge of DMing 3E.

Quick question: Has anybody figured out who "New DM" is? One of the things that I enjoy about these columns (and some of the playtest excerpts) is getting the chance to attach some personality to the WotC staff.

And no, AllisterH, you're not -- in fact, as a perennial 3e player who used to DM earlier stuff, but didn't want to invest the workload to DM 3e, that's a question that's looming large in my mind as I try to get back in the saddle to kick off our group's 4e experience and give our long suffering 3e DM a chance to play for once.

No, you're not. I am eager to see the new DMG. It must be full of awesomesauce... (I suppose I should prepare myself for some disappointment - it might be good, but can it be _that_ good?)

I really like her articles and look forward to them each month - I hope they keep them coming!

Shelly's articles are great. Despite it's pinkness, I flipped through her book at a bookstore. As much as I'd like to read it, that's just too much flowery pink cuteness. Maybe they have it at Audible...
