At first, I was a little unclear on how the whole Domain thing works. I think they should definately get more than 1 Domain at 1st level; even the Cleric starts out with 2. Also, none of the Domains grant 0 level spells. Does the Mystic's alignment limit her choice of Domains? I imagine so, but it is not clearly stated. A clearer explanation of all these aspects of spellcasting should be in the class description.

The only other issue I have is with the multiclass restrictions. I don't really see the problem with the Paladin/Mystic, and a multiclass Cleric/Mystic would be much like a multiclass Wizard/Sorc. What they gain in flexibility for low-level spells, they lose in firepower at higher levels. So that characters can't get too many Domains, in order to multiclass, 2 of the Mystic's Domains must be the same as their Cleric Domains and vice versa.

this class has a overly small spell list. They currently have one spell that they can cast until they reach 4th level at which point they suddenly have 2.

You need to give them more domains or give them a selection of other spell known or both.

Oooo, big mistake -- forgot to mention that Mystics can take Domains as Feats. That's where their power comes from -- lots and lots of Domains.

So, if a Mystic took every Feat as a Domain, he'd end up with 12 Domains total (13 if Human). Here's how it would break down level by level:

non-Human:
1st) 2 Domains
3rd) 3 Domains
5th) 4 Domains
6th) 5 Domains
9th) 6 Domains
10th) 7 Domains
12th) 8 Domains
15th) 10 Domains
18th) 11 Domains
20th) 12 Domains

Mystics can have significantly more spells than Sorcerers, but they're much less flexible -- since most of their spells come from the Cleric & Druid spell lists, and since they can't "cherry pick" the best Wizard spells, AND since they get fewer spells per day.

What they have over a Sorcerer, though, is a slightly larger HD, no arcane spell failure in armor, they can Turn Undead, and get Domain Powers.

I've tried to balance the Domain Powers against their spell lists, and balance the spell lists for spontaneous casting, but I'm just one small penguin.

I think the Dragonlance Campaign Setting is releasing a divine counterpart to the sorceror, much like what you have here, also named the Mystic.
