Made sense in 1E/2E when Rangers where just better Fighters more or less.

But yeah 5E Drizzt is more a Fighter/Monk/Barb. Like 9/10/1

All of his nature lore etc is just background and skill choices.

Well he was a fighter they swapped into a ranger.

They probably wont touch on it but set 150 years after her birth means Drizzt is without Cattie Brie again. Wulfgar is also dead (again). Brunor and Regis and Zak and Jarlaxal are probably still around though. Possibly Artemis as well.

Not really? The "more than 150 years later" is count from 1347 DR, so it is around 1497 DR now. Just a few year after the last novel.

Drizzt was originally a Dark Elf/Drow. In 1e, I believe it was the Monster Manual 2 (I'd have to look it up), Dark Elves were able to fight with two scimitars at the same time.

Hence why Drizzt could fight with two scimitars at the same time. He may have become a Ranger, but he was still the Dark Elf.

Drizzt has had ranger, fighter, and barbarian levels as far back as his 3rd Ed stat block of n the FRCS, and I’m pretty sure the later books had him becoming a monk too. He’s long since divorced himself enough from what a d&d game is actually like that it’s pretty much impossible to represent him with the d&d rules any more.
