This kit equips the Dungeon Master with a screen and other tools that are perfect for running D&D adventures through dungeons, whether ruined or thriving.

It would be nice if WotC actually shared the piece of art for use to actually see clearly... seems like a group of adventurers confronting a cave of hook horrors, and some sort of dragon in a grove of mushrooms, but it's not totally clear.

Im all for new tools, but is this the 10th DM screen theyve put out this edition?
The thing is, the DM screen is one of the best items in d&d for serial re-creation:
  • They're easy to manufacture (compared to, say, miniatures)
  • They're far more likely to be used by a gaming group than most of the obvious things they could re-create a lot (miniatures, etc)
  • The groups that use them mostly do so every game, and in a way that does mean they get physically more wear than most things
  • They are easily tailored in art and in their useful content for particular adventure books, which makes them a great tie-in for the modules.
(I haven't personally bought more than the original one and one that was tied in a boxed set I was already getting, but I can definitely see why they sell well.)
