I'm not sad. I knew you'd probably have better cards, and knowing that you did, I also agreed to a rematch--playing against people (even overpowered) is more fun than the computer. Anyway, I didn't have any interesting cards to lose! Hahaha.

Likewise, can someone explain "Combo" to me?

Also, I've found that the elemental symbols don't always show up, but the penalties will. Sometimes the computer places two cards during one turn (in battles against the Trickster). I've found refreshing will ascertain the true card placed. Why are all of the match results and alerts in German?

Ha Ha HA! They are all in german because it looks more fantasy like to see Selbe Karten!

Seriously, no clue.

Must refresh after every card laid if playing certain NPC's, and after every "sudden death" so the elements will show back up. Dionysus is one that "pretends" to lay cards, and magically they aren't where he places them. Refreshing after every card played is a must for the god of wine.

If you flip cards with Plus, Same or Same Wall, the cards you flipped can in turn flip more cards if their values are better. Sort of like falling Dominoes.

Jonesy, I think I've seen it happen even if the values weren't better. Also, I think the bonuses/penalties changed on occasion. I'll just keep an eye out in the future and see if I can pin it down during a match and post it here.

@Vyvyan Basterd Thanks for playing, apparently I need to go buy enough starter decks to get my low levels out of the negatives. That way I can play with the new kids without being a jerk.

EDIT: Is there a way to tell if someone has decent cards, before challenging them, so I can avoid this in the future. Second time I've gotten into a game with a person who has the starter deck and little else, while I show up with items and such...

I wonder if you could also get a same wall or plus from the combo. Now that makes me want to go back and review my matches with combo and "Selbe Karten", if only I knew which those were.

Just found the "active battles" tab, wow... Sometimes I'm really slow to catch on... Statistics and such are useful as well, that is how you can find out if your opponent has large number of cards or just starters. Kinda, it lists how many cards they've found.
