New Fox Show: True Calling starring Eliza Dushku

So far, John Doe has able to hold its own, despite that FOX's Friday Night timeslot is being dubbed as the Graveyard. Only one other show managed to survive the Friday Night timeslot and that was the X-Files (luckily moved to Sunday Night in latter seasons of the series run).

Re: And More New Shows

For those of you who, like me, enjoy quirky shows (like Northern Exposure or even Eerie, Indiana), there is Wonder Falls from Fox. This series deals with a young woman in Niagara Falls. Wonder—formerly known as Maid of the Mist—has already been picked up for 13 episodes to air this summer, a cunning strategy by Fox to avoid having promising new programs (can you say John Doe?) murdered by the World Series.

They tried this a few years ago with "Roar." Still didn't prevent the Fox executives from screwing around with the series, airing episodes out of order and killing the show's strong initial momentum.

Roar? Was that the one set in Britannia during the waning years of Roman occupation, with a young blonde guy, a bald smith with a maul, a girl archer and the former slave with a whip?

I loved that show! Alas, I can't seem to find images of it anywhere on the web!

The best spin they did was when they explained that a banshee's wail doesn't kill anyone. Instead, banshees can see a person's death, and it's usually so firghtening that she screams in panic. Of course, the person dies so thereafter, so...

Yes, ROAR marked the first television appearance of Heath Leger(sp?) (starred as the main character Conor) who leads a small band from his former tribe (was betrayed and wiped out by Romans) and tries to rally the other tribes of Celts against the Roman occupation of Brittania. It also featured a mysterious Roman centurion, Caspius Gaius Longinus (cursed/bless with immortality and in search of the lost Spear of Destiny, the weapon he once used on Jesus' crucified form to determine if he is dead), and Roman witch as their antagonist.
