I'm pissed it makes sweeping unnecessary or massibely overdue changes and the changes that are justified IMO, are very minor. It's not because it exists.

Elitiditionist (n.): A player who thinks that whatever edition / variant of an edition / selection of rulebooks to use is the best and all others are not only inferior, but are not True D&D (tm).

Altbomination (n.) - A character built using as many different alternate rules sources as possible, usually done to create obscenely powerful characters by cherry-picking the broken parts.

Splat and Happy (adj.) - The state of using the proper amount of alternate rules (splatbooks). The proper value depends on the individual in question, and for some it may be zero. Gamers who are truly "splat and happy" don't need to attack others for their splat-tolerance.

I'm not terrified of these other books; I just don't want to be bothered with them.

That doesn't make you a Coremonger. Coremongers look at other books and go, "That'll ruin the whole game! I hate those books!"

I recently met a new player/DM who told us about the games he's run and played in before. I told him about mine. His first words after I finished were, "You use Unearthed Arcana? I hate that book. It adds too many rules and throws away alignments. I wouldn't have a clue what to make in your game..." and so on.

There's a fine line between personal preference and coremongering. :)

Drama Queen (n.): A player who mistakes a D&D session for a community theater production. All of their characters have long and detailed backstories,

Check

they often engage in long in-character discussions with NPCs and other PCs,

I role play, so check

they worry about doing anything out-of-character,

nope, not worried about that at all

and they never turn down the opportunity to express their disdain for "min-maxers" and "munchkins."

Depends on who they are so sorta check here.

Drama queens usually annoy those whom with whom they game (unless, of course, they're gaming with other drama queens).

I don't annoy anyone I game with, or if I do they are scared to tell me. And I'm okay with that :p

Yes to the first half but no to the second. I never make powerful characters, usually mine are kind of weak.
