Dang, not yet released. One of my sons will turn 5 next week, and one of these would be perfect.

I'll just keep my eye out for Chirstmas.

Lego usually releases sets in two main waves: one around April and the other during Autumn in time for Christmas. So they should be available before Christmas.

BTW, happy birthday to JoeBlank Jnr. ;)

Humbug. I'm just not a fan of the new "one-function" lego sets. Cool as vikings are (and they are cool), I'd rather see a youth putting together his own viking longboat out of standard pieces, rather than relying on the nice folks at lego to mold him one.

They still have sets like that. They're bringing out/have brought out some small sets, each with a theme but that are 'multi-functional'.

Lego will soon be releasing a new viking range complete with dragons, a wyvern, a sea serpent and a hell hound.

I'm a happy bunny. :)

Looks like Lego is responding to the Megablocks competition.

The discussions on the Lego newsgroups and websites is that the Viking line is going to be available in Europe only, and North America will get an excelusive Dinosaur line. This has been confirmed by several of the designers at various times, although there is always the possibility that they will end up releasing some of them here, but it's not very likely outside of Lego Shop At Home (they often have exclusive sets available there http://shop.lego.com/default.asp).

Hmmm... as I'm in the UK, this sounds like an Ebay seller's opportunity. :p
