Well, ended up buying the Toshiba e405. It was on sale with a $100 rebate, so I got it for $199.
Nice design, nice screen, voice recognition software I am still getting used to but that may be pretty handy.
Don't like the directional button. Had hoped for an 8-direction button, but this one is even worse than the one on my e335. It's 4 directions only, doesn't even do the annoying 'fake diagonal' that the e335 did, where a diagonal went left and up to give you a diagonal upper left. Also, the dpad and buttons won't work at the same time, which makes playing Bomberman challenging...
Still, games are totally secondary... I really want this to keep track of money, addresses, etc. OH, and Nethack.
Now if I could only figure out why it doesn't refresh my MS Money info on the screen after I modify my checking account...
