Uneven. I love some of the art, like Marasaka (sp?) and think that is professional quality. But the wizard, with a complete lack of folds in a heavy cloth arm, just has a tube for an arm. And doesn't quite make the grade. I much prefer your hand drawn stuff to the Poser looking stuff. While Sulieman is a simple drawing, there is a real elegance and realness to it that the Poser stuff lacks.

For example: The bowman Paladin is just really stiff. The arm muscles are totally off and waxy. While the accoutrement is very cool, if the figure doesn't make sense... then the whole thing doesn't make sense. I really think Poser is great for making character portraits... but not much else. And if that is what you meant for it... cool... I get that.

But I rarely see 3d stuff that I think is suitable for publication... very rarely. And as a freelancer, that is the bar I judge all illustration against, is it worthy to be published. But I'm somewhat of a traditionalist, so take my .02 with a grain of salt.

Thanks for your thoughts. I hope to eventually make the Poseresque drawings as original and elegant as the pencil drawings through Photoshop and a Wacom tablet ;)

Still working on it!

Nice work Oliver! I really like the second picture. I just might need to create a character and use that for her image. More please!

Hey thanks Rich, hope all is well with you. Working on any cool projects these days?
Things are going well, thanks. The only cool project I've had time to work on lately has been installing new staff computers at the library, and that's not really cool, just a project. Somehow, I doubt that's what you were talking about...

Please say you didn't draw the two black pics, otherwise I just lost all hopes at being good at of art.....

You're lack texture on alot of the poser pics, the doggy doesn't look like it has hair, and the gnome is shiny.

I'm trying to fuse Photoshop and Paint drawing on a WACOM with the poser stuff. The two above are hybrids - Poser renders worked heavily over in photoshop (in fact the elf woman is practically hand drawn...)

The dog and the gnome are early poser shots. I've gotten good at making the B/W look drawn my color renderings need work.

You know - alot of those great fantasy artists liek Boris Vallejo take photos and use them to rough out thier pics. I see Poser as a way of recreating that method without a studio...Anyway, thanks for the advice!
