New sculpts

Patrick Keith

First Post
I've been puttyin' away all weekend and put the fininshing touches on
these.

My official entry to Hasslefree's Pirate Contest.

Pirate Girl 2

She's 35mm to the top of her hat.

A long time ago, there was a topic running over at the Drawing Board forum for folks to post their Hellgirl pictures. There was a lot of top notch work posted and I even worked up a little sketch myself.

Anyway - I thought it would make a fun sculpt so here is the result. She's about 33mm tall.

This is really about the third or fourth figure I've sculpted with
green stuff so far and am having lots of fun with it.

Let me know what you all think.

Pirate Girl looks fantastic. A little more "punkish" than a "period piece" pirate but very evocative anyway. I really like that one.

Hellgirl, I'm not so thrilled about. For me, something is missing. I just can't come up with what it is.

EDIT: Figured it out. The "mechanical arm" is too long and the hand holding the pistol is too big for her scale.

Those are nice Patrick.
The arms are a bit thin, is that intentional. They look fragile.

Excellent characterizations though.
Keep it up.

no, its the tail.

Argh! The tail! I missed that one. I tried to watch through most of my DVD extras to see how they made the Right Hand of Doom in the Hellboy film and thought it seemed pretty close to what they made. I had a really hard time with the engraved runes though.

The thin arms are an issue, apparently for casting, so I will likely go back and add some sort of sleeves to the pirate girl. I was just trying to not make them look too ripped. I guess they should be a little beefier. :D

I'm actually going to be doing a Warcaster, Trollkin bodyguard and Gobber for my own little Warmachine Mercenary faction pretty soon, so I'll be sure to post those for you too. Thanks for the great feedback!

I like the thin arms -

wait ... did you say it may be cast in pewter?

I'll take a few, arms clothed or bare, whatever it takes! Let me know how & when!

And, yes, post your gobber and trollkin when ready too!
