New Skill System (Part 3: The Crunch)

In this thread I delineated the first part of my vision for a brand new skill system. In this thread I explained part of the motivation behind the new skill system.

Attached is a more complete rendition of my variant skill system. It includes the generalized rules for how skills now work, plus more detailed rules for roughly half of the new skills (Acrobatics, Athletics, Chicanery, Concentraton, and Lore). There are actually 20 skills in my new system, but these five skills encompass 14 previous skills (Appraise, Balance, Bluff, Climb, Concentration, Decipher Script, Disguise, Escape Artist, Forgery, Jump, Knowledge, Swim, Tumble, and Use Rope). These are also some of the most complicated skills so alone they comprise about 50% of the text of the entire skills document.

Next time I will post the rest of the skills document (I have to finish it first!), but until then, discuss!

The maximum bonus you can have at any one time in any skill is equal to your character level +3. Everytime you spend skill points, the bonus they grant only applies to that class, with a maximum of character level +3. So a 1st level fighter/2nd-level rogue who has proficiency in influence with both classes has a +2 for each class, hence a +4 bonus overall. If the character gained a level of rogue and spent his skill point at 3rd level on Influence mastery, he would have a bonus of +6 for rogue and +2 for fighter, but since his maximum bonus as a 4th level character is +7, he has a total of +7.
 

I am disappointed this didn't generate more buzz as a number of people kept asking me when I would publish more crunch for the system. The rest of it should be done in a week or two by the way and then all of EN World can convert to my marvelous skill system! :]
