Schbeiker's Ice Spiker
Evocation [Cold]
Level: Sor/Wiz 4
Components: V, S
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)
Target: One creature
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: Reflex negates, then Fortitude partial; see text
Spell Resistance: Yes
You create a jagged spike of ice, which juts out of any surface within 5 feet of the subject. The subject gets a Reflex save to avoid being painfully impaled. If that save fails, the spike has successfully connected with the subject, who must then succeed on a Fortitude save or die painfully from the shock of the attack. Even if the Fortitude save is successful, the subject takes 1d6 points of cold damage and 2d6 points of piercing damage.
-----
mechanically, its the same thing as phantasmal killer, with its will, then fort save setup changed to ref then fort. I put in the 5 feet next to the ground or a wall clause cause i guess it being useless against aerial opponents is about the same as a helm of telepathy possibly turning it around.
Questions, comments, death threats?
