New spells known for sorcerers

Whenever I play an arcane spell caster I allways chose socerer, because of, one they get more spells per day and, two it is not as munchy as the wizard because its main stat is not as useful as intelligence. But, I believe one there should be new ways for sorcerers to get new spells known, not just from wishing andspell advancement, and I believe that they should also get new abilities ever so often. ( Allmost every other class gains new abilities.)

There's always the extra spell feat from Tome and Blood (I think). And if you want special abilites, focus a bit and jump into a prestige class when you can. Sorcerers lose next to nothing if htey join a class with +1 spellcaster per level. Which makes me wonder why my sorcerer is 17th level (almost 18th) and still hasn't joined one yet.

Heck, he's thinking about grabbing a level of paladin (as much for role-playing reasons as for the +10 to all saves he would get).

Extra Spell I think its called (from T&B).

And yes all sorcerors really should go for a +1 spellcasting PrC. After all you have no class abilities (well maybe your familiar I guess).

IMO, the best PrC for a Sorcerer is the Divine Disciple. You get a better hit die, neat special abilities, and free additional domain spells.

The only thing you lose is a familiar with more powerful abilities. (Which all the toad sorcerers don't care about anyway.) ;)

Of course, the DM can make your life a living hell, considering you are directly connected to divinity...

....and no, I'm not a DM, and nobody in my campaign is going for this PrC, and of course I'm not going to screw him over at all...nope, not me... :)

Where is Divine Disciple from? It sounds like it would fit my Sorcerer really well. He's an Aasimar that believes he gets his sorcerous power directly from Heironious. All his Spells are tied to Heironious as well, instead if Magic Missile he has "Glory's Stings", Mordenkainen's Magnificent Mansion is "Heironious' Guest House" etc.

MotP has a "Divine Agent" but it requires the ability to cast 2nd level Divine spells, so isn't really a good choice for the Sorcerer. DotF has the Contemplative (with no divine spellcasting prereqs), but unfortunately their bonus spellcaster levels specifically refer to divine casters.

Anyone else know of a good prestige class for anon-elemental, non-dragon sorcerer? Any that grant prestige domains would be really cool.

Thanks!

A munchkin trying to disguise (Cha) himself.

Are we to take it from your statement that you feel that sorcerers are munchkin? If so, why would you think that, what the gain in staying power they lose in versatility.

There have been several times when the ability to only learn one or two new spells per level, and the fact that I gain new spell levels slower than the wizard have been very annoying. Heck, if I'd chosen wizard I'd be casting Gate already, instead of waiting another level for it.
