I thought it was excellent...as usual! Wasn't quite sure what they were going to do with Jonas but, since he was absent from the main credits, figured he'd be ousted somehow.
I particularly enjoyed the limited ship battle in part I. Nice FX for Stargate. Did anyone catch the old guy that found Daniel. Pretty sure he was the old, senile go'auld from the episode "Need" (Daniel using sarcophagus until he went bad).

I enjoyed the episode. Quite good. I'm just not happy to see Jonas being written out. Despite having only been on for a season I really grew attached to him. 
Otherwise though I really did think it was an excellent season opener and shows great promise for the season. I look forward to seeing where it will go.

From what the rumour mill is saying, Jonas will probably play a large role in the planned Stargate: Atlantis spinoff.

I had heard about the show, but had not heard he would be in it. I'm glad to hear he might be. Like I said I really liked the character. Granted from what I have read Stargate: Atlantis wont happen until the Stargate: SG-1 movie happens. As far as I know that hasn't been filmed or even started on yet. So it could be a while. *sigh* Oh well. Hopefully we will see him again.

From what I hear is that the likelyhood of the movie being made
are slim. Brad Wright (the #1 SG-1 guy) is for what I'm hearing
fighting for it to be done, but has had trouble getting it financed.
The spinoff seems to be a done deal though, as it's already on

Anyway, I saw it this morning (after it mysteriously appeared on my hard
drive) and I must say I liked it. A bit too SW-ish maybe, although the O'Neill
jokes were very conscious of this.
I didn't like how they got rid of Jonas though. I'd have liked it to go as it
was originally rumoured and hinted at, at the SGC working on other things,
but staying recurring ala Dr. Frasier. Of course, he might return, but I wonder
how. I liked Jonas.
