New Stealth rules now give us the speed and sneakiness of stealthing parties

I'm with Vonklaude here. If you are busy trying to spot your friends, or improve their stealth, then you'll be less focused on being quiet yourself.

The problem is, "can you hide from your friends?"

Generally speaking "sure, why not?"....but in the case of a PC NINJA ASSASSIN STRIKE TEAM(tm), the PCs aren't trying to hide from each other....in fact, to do so would lose lots of the advantages of being on a team (namely: "teamwork").

So other PCs on the team can't check each other's Steath Check.

Moreover, in order to signal to the "non-stealthy" member that he's not being stealthy ("Pssst, George: Yer slip is showin'!"), the person who's doing the signalling automatically becomes unhidden!

I'm seeing a hilarious sit-com in the making:

PC Larry: "Pssst, George: I can see you!"

PC George: "Pssst, Larry: Well now I can see you too!"

PC Larry:"Doh..." :.-(

PC George: "Okay, can you see me now?"

PC Larry: :hmm:"Well, yes dufuss, 'cause you just spoke to me!!!"

Well, if you want to be nitpicky about breaking stealth, here's your solution.

The PC with the highest Perception score is the "Designated Observer," and the PC with the second highest is the "Runner-Up Observer."

All PCs except the Designated Observer hide. The DO then checks to see if anyone is visible. If someone is, the DO signals that person to try again. Repeat until everyone but the DO is properly hidden.

Then the DO hides, and the Runner-Up Observer checks to see if the DO is visible. If so, the RUO emerges from hiding and signals.

At this point, the DO and the RUO are both visible. The RUO hides again, with the DO signaling if the RUO is visible, until the RUO is successfully hidden. Then the DO tries hiding again. If the RUO can spot her, he signals and they repeat the cycle.

Continue until the RUO cannot spot the DO. At this point, everyone in the party is hidden well enough that no other party member can spot them.

[Whoops... random thread necromancy. Sorry, came in from a Google search and forgot to check the date.]
