newbies guide for Fallout 4

Generally if you do the main quest it's lvl 50ish.

Lvl 30+ is the recommended levels. You should be able to cake walk it.
OK. Wow.

I've found Vault 81. Now, what is Dr Penske doing down there?!

Clarification level 50 is around builds are complete. Some builds are online earlier.

DLC recommended is 30+ If you focus tge main quest and dint get sidetracked you will be around 50.

If you focus it hard and moderate intelligence you can beat the game in the 30s without trying super hard or using glitches.

Far Garbor has the toughest creature in the game but you won't encounter it to around level 90. By then you can one shot it or probably have a weapon that easily deals with it.

By then you can run around naked in the glowing sea on survival mode unarmed or using a pool que as a weapon.

Meh. I don’t really bother with “builds”. I’ve just been doing what seems fun and/or makes sense within the story.

Given how long this game is, there’s little chance I’ll play it again after I finish this playthrough.

Well if you've invested in commando, rifleman etc that's your build.

I’ve invested in lots of things but only because they seemed interesting / useful. Not because I was going for anything specific ahead of time (like a naked unarmed marathon runner or whatever). That’s what I mean.

Yup going generalist is often a good approach.

Naked marathon runner isn't very good it's mostly to see how far you can push things.

Lockpickimg, aqua boy/girl, finding, crafting, and a lot of intelligence perks are great.

Advantage of 2nd playthrough is beelining for nuka world or far harbor early around level 30. Or settling Far Harbor and living there.

Far Harbor is generally regarded as some of the best Fallout ever story wise. Great atmosphere, feel, missions, factions etc. Fun powerful weapons without being to over the top. Except for one.

OK. I’ll get there eventually. I don’t like the idea of being a raider boss in Nuka World (doesn’t fit with my vision for Nora), so I’m not sure how I’ll do that expansion.

Generally you turn on them and liberate the people.

If you go evil you kinda need to focus on that as it doesn't play well with the settlement system as you build Raider outposts instead.

It's not that well implemented hence FH looking so good in comparison Even if you "go evil".

Yeah I don’t want to build raider settlements.

Well put can do the bare minimum and then turn on them or go for the "goid" ending which skips most of the DLC.

Nuka World's mote about the equipment. If you did a tier list Far Harbors about an S while Nka Worlds about a B. It's weaker storyline wise even if you buy into its premise. I don't tend to do the Raider settlements or the bare minimum to progress the story line.
