NG vs. N: Neutral Good Victorious!

Horseshoe Nail has been a good enough student, but nothing to write home about. He knows that it is a ravid from the positive energy plane, its outsider traits, and that its flight is a supernatural ability, and, if lost somehow, the ravid is restricted to one action a round. He does not know about the ravid's fun ability that is useless in the arena.

HN's bite bounces off the ravid's deceptively thick hide (rolled 25-2=23 for PA). The ravid slaps HN with its tail as HN flies away (AoO roll 23) for 6 points of damage and an unpleasant tingling sensation.

Round 275: The ravid flies to 45N60E25Z and misses completely with its tail (rolled 9+1=10 for higher ground). HN has 51 HP remaining.

HN does not have to land if he does not want to. He breathes for 22 points of sonic damage, which the ravid did not dodge at all (rolled 7 Ref save). The ravid takes another 4 points of damage when it falls to the ground. It is dead. HN still has a move action to take in round 275 before the next Neutral creature comes in to start round 276. HN can breathe again in round 279, and has 51 HP.

Gansk, I need your help with the next two Neutral combatants.

Horseshoe Nail had no idea that the ravid would be so pathetically weak. Instead of going to land, he will circle around and be at 60N40E30Z heading east.

Yeah, and it was CR 5. Of course, it could not use its fun ability.

Round 276: A small fireball that is a 2 foot diameter translucent globe with two spots that might pass for eyes on the upper hemisphere of the ball and a dozen tentacles dangling from the lower hemisphere flies into the arena to 60N105E5Z. Horseshoe Nail recognizes it as a xac-yel energon. He knows that it is an outsider; its outsider traits; it is incorporeal; and it has the fire subtype (immune to fire, vulnerable to cold).

Armed with that incredibly useful knowledge -- heck, it's the most useful result of a skill check in any arena so far -- Horseshoe Nail, circles upwards and hopefully out of reach until his breathe weapon recharges. Only Bahamut knows where HN will be exactly, but if it's close assume his in reach of the energon. Estimating: 276 - 110N15E60Z, 277: 10N0E90Z, 278: 110N0E110Z. In 279, he'll make his way down for a breathe weapon, or obviously breathe at the energy if it joined him at the top of the arena.

Round 277: X-Y is at 60N100E25Z. HN at 10N0E90Z.
Round 278: X-Y is at 60N95E45Z. HN at 110N0E110Z.

Round 279: X-Y is at 60N90E65Z. HN flies to 60N90E85Z (barely getting there, and have I mentioned that flying is a pain) and breathes. X-Y dodges partially, but is affected (84% on ignore chance, 16 Ref save) and takes 4 points of sonic damage. X-Y has 23 HP remaining. HN can breathe again in round 283.

Round 280: X-Y climbs up to 60N90E75Z and hits HN (rolled 12+2=12 ranged touch attack) with a ray of fire that burns HN for 1 point of fire damage. HN has 50 HP remaining.

Round 280: X-Y, finally realizing it can go straight up, charges up to 60N20E105Z.

I don't think you can charge straight up unless you have perfect maneuverability. Going up is 'difficult terrain'.
