Nightmares about Sharn

The worst one, though, for "nightmares" is Khyber. "Khyber" is rhyming slang in certain parts of Oz and England (Cockney, IIRC) for a person's bottom. It comes from the Khyber Pass in Afghanisation (the rhyming part is obviously the second word).

To me, Sharn is not a city, but a weird monster.

(snip) Kinda makes sense, given the place on Eberron it corresponds to...

Yep, I noticed that, too. Anyway, it makes the dragons that much easier for me to remember (although I doubt I'll ever get to an Eberron campaign).

Actually, it's the Sharn's enemies, the Phaerimm, who are responsible for that. They are the ones who casted the lifedrain spell.

(Or was I lied to? Was it a conspiracy? :p)

I am now understanding that...the wife's from Melbourne (in Oz, not Florida ;) ) and she's never quite gotten comfortable with Khyber, or Khyber shards, or Khyber this-and-that. :D

That is so hilarious! What makes it additionally funny for me is that some time ago (circa 1997) we had a rather dim player who had a female character named Khyber. He had also a male character (NPC). whose name is escaping me at the moment. Anyway, because we couldn't tell when he was speaking in character (and which character he was supposed to be playing), he took to speaking in a really bad falsetto when speaking as Khyber and in a really over-the-top gruff voice when playing the male character. If I had an audio clip, you'd understand how utterly bad this was.

I can't wait to tell our DM. He'll love this.

Well, there's also the Basura Swamp, which is basically Spanglish for "Garbage Swamp", which I found kind of funny. And then there's something (city? person?) called Jorune...

At least it's not Kalamar: Fhokki, Gadadik, Powermaster, The Vicelord...
