Lasair and Wil don't see anything that indicates the two watchmen are being anything but forthcoming and helpfull.

"Realy? Well, I haven't heard anything about that. Besides, we don't deal in passangers much here. I can ask the night crew when they get here."

"That will be helpful. Is there anywhere else that a kidnapper might have gone, if, for instance, they doubled back on this road and went the opposite way?"

"Well, that would be more towards inner Earling, so there's plenty of places to hide. Not too far from the Barron's Estate, there's a road that Ts off the one out the gate here that heads straight into the heart of Earling. You can also go North just out these gates and then a bit West later to head inland. I usually go in once a week to see Tiny and Mountain fight. Best pair of gladiators I've seen in a long time. They paired up with a few others for a while, but I ain't seen them around much lately."

"They might, but most people in a city this size would rather just turn the other direction unless they're asked. It's easier that way I guess. Makes jobs like ours a bit harder though. Besides, if she wasn't tied up, struggling, or anything like that, it probably wouldn't look too unusual. And as beautiful as Niobe is, in the dark she'd be just another woman."

"Well, you can talk to the night shift, but I didn't hear anything from them, and I asked them myself, so it's likely they didn't come in here. By here maybe, but certaintly not in here."
