[NJ, DE, PA and beyond] Southern Exposure [ENworld get-together]

FYI: I have submitted (both through e-mail and their website) a request to the Double Exposure folks to see if we can get the gathering listed in the program book this year.

Or, at the very least, get a bulletin board in place that we can post an announcement about it at the 'con. If I don't hear back from them in an appropriate time, I'll make sure to mention (prior to the convention) where ENWorld members can look to see any posting about the gathering.

At this point, I'm thinking that we should look at 5 PM EST as a time to gather in the RPG room. That, regrettably, falls within the 3-8PM programming block, but it seemed like a pretty appropriate time, last year. That allows for pub food and drinks for those who desire it....and I WILL desire some brew. :)

I thought the show was Labor Day weekend at first (wasn't ShoreCon usually Labor Day weekend?), but am glad to see that it's later in the year: Different Worlds may be able to send some product as prizes, as well as some of the nifty color maps of the Valus we had at GenCon; we're going to contact the con to see what we can arrange :D
That sounds great! Shorecon has actually (at least since I started going a few years ago) always been in late September or early October. I remember all to well going to Shorecon 2001, shortly after 9/11. You can imagine what a laughing party that was. We still had a blast, but the 'con took a bad financial beating that year from the low attendance, as I recall.

I would check with info@dexposure.com. As of now, they're the only contact info I have for the convention, specifically. This page here has contact information for the company that is running/organizing the event, and may be a more solid lead (as they provide a phone number).

I'm sorry, its just quite an image and a stretch of the imagine to ponder if Scorch would wake up with more holes in him then Valanthe would have burn marks.

Would that be "Scorch marks?"

Hehe, just trying to freak Scorch out even more. And besides, Val's evade, move silent, and hide are too good. :p

I'll have to look into showing up on the weekend. For some reason I can get up the energy to go to Indianapolis no problem but Cherry Hill is just too far away. (Look left to see where I'm located.)

I think a friend of mine always goes to the double exposure events in Jersey, I'll have to see if he's going there this year.

Trying to make Scorch sweat even more? Too cruel...too cruel...

...I love it!

I've gotta agree with Iago up there. Make him sweat Valanthe! Perhaps one day we'll read about a very drunk, okay, a very very very drunk Valanthe hitting on Scorch. I'd love to see that.

On a side note. I know this isn't really part of the thread, so I hope no one minds, but I'm fairly new to the King of Prussia area and since the Meepo's are from around here (and they seem to be reading this thread), what is a decent gaming store in the area? I appreciate the help.

There are several, depending on your location. The Compleat Strategist is the old reliable, located on North Gulph Road, as I recall. They have the best selection of materials, particularly board games.

Dravot can recommend his store in Jenkintown, which I don't recall the name of at the moment.

Further afield, in the Exton Mall, you can find Allied Hobbies, which is more of a hobbyist store that carries games. Showcase Comics in the Granite Run Mall is one of the best of the region, doing lots of gaming related events, and having much more room than anyone else for that purpose.

We used to have a WotC store here, but well, you know...

WizarDru,

When you say Dravot and "his store" in Jenkintown, do you mean he owns the store or merely that he visits it on a constant basis? I think I know which one it is since I use to always drive past one on Route 611 and kept saying "I'm gonna stop there one day."

Never did though.

But if Dravot owns it I'll make certain to egg it...I mean, stop by to see what they have.

PS - Watch someone egg the store now and everyone's gonna come looking for me.

Thanks for the rest of the info and the link! I appreciate it! Gonna have to look into them.

Heh. No, it's just the store he prefers. :D
