No 4th ed D&D computer game...why? :(

Remember also that 4e game -> 4e mechanics in the hands of a lot of programmers -> lots of potential for 4e mechanics leaks.

Assuming the mechanics were even finalized early enough for a game to have been written.

Indeed. Until 2016, or 2021 "based on performance" whatever that means.

They've been having a bit of a shaky period lately. The computer game license is probably in a bit of a limbo at the moment.

Edit: Or maybe they've been talking to people. Certainly no one would pop on and make cryptic comments on THIS thread!

Doubt it, Bioware seem to have made the switch to using their own IP. In particular, they seemed pretty fed up with WotC's vetting procedure. Of course if their's sufficient money to be made, they might change their mind - particularly since they're now owned by EA.

Obsidian (KotOR II, NWN2) would seem the most obvious choice.
