D&D 4E No d100 in 4e?

The d12 seems like it will see more use in 4e than 3e. I'm under the impression it will be used quite a bit for weapon damage rolls, especially weapons that do extra damage on a crit -- this extra damage seems to be in the form of +d12's.

Which makes the d100 look even more like the forgotten child. :\

Dude, I really hope you are right... The 3rd edition designers forgot to add the D12 to the ruleset (they apparently found out at the last minute and made some quick and dirty changes to the equipment table and to the barbarian class to cover-up)

I miss the D12 from those blissfully carefree days of my adolescence, where entire weekends were devoted to 2nd edition AD&D, with short breaks for pizza and soda
(Today, I am lucky if I manage to get one four hour session twice a month!)

We have a player in our group with a d3 [paper, rock, scissors] a d7 [days of the week], a d24 [hours in the day] and several other obscure dice.

As long as there are d10s, the percentile is still functional, even if it's only used for it's true purpose when there are long lists involved.

I would guess that they might avoid needing d100 in combat, but outside of combat, for example with rituals, it would fit better. In general, if you need a d100, you will probably be referring to a list of possible 'outcomes' ... and thus, you probably wouldn't want to be doing that mid combat.
