D&D 4E No d100 in 4e?

The number of desired outcomes does not really have much to do with it, Umbran.

I noted the die roll needed more outcomes, not the game effect needed more outcomes.

What I would like to see in D&D is a fully laid out 100 option table where the D100 is used to its full potential...

or maybe weapons that deal D100 damage... that would be funny!

I really wouldn't be surprised if the d100 is relegated purely to being a "DM's die" in 4e. It could also work for quick-gen charts for anyone (character names, background, etc.).

Then again, there's a part of me that would like to see the mighty d30 come into use in the game & get some love, somehow.

:p

It's been gone for players since 3E. Every percentage you speak of only has increments of 5, and thus was just as easy to roll on a d20.
Heck, in our games now, things like "miss chance 50%" end up being determined with a d6 half the time anyway.

What they need to do is add more dice. The possibilities of the d16, d24, and d30 have been sadly neglected for far, far too long. (1d16+2 ability score generation!)

I love my d30 and contrive to use it whenever possible.

My d100 though? Not so much love. It's too lightweight and takes forever to stop rolling... it's like a hollow golf ball! Make that thing bigger and give it some heft and I'd love to use it more.

2d10 as a pseudo d100? Meh. I'd rather roll a d20.
