No talk about "The Batman"?

Hey everyone.

As I browse the "Fantasy & Sci-Fi Books, Movies, & TV" forum here at EN World, I notice that no one ever has a thread talking about the animated series "The Batman". Mostly just "Justice League" and "Samurai Jack". And once in a while, "Teen Titans". And when "He-Man" was still on, no one seemed to talk about that either. Odd considering its of the fantasy genre....and also nostalgic.

I take these shows haven't been talked about because they failed to hold enough interests of the EN Worlders?

If so, what is it that you don't like? Just curious. Discuss.

I've only seen the Bane and Man Bat episodes. It hasn't been that bad, the Alfred character has really been the highlight for me so far. I like that he has personality and is not willing to just serve.

Alfred is great, I agree.

Bane was more like the Hulk or the Juggernaut. But if you can get past this extreme interpretation, the Bane episode was pretty good.

The new Joker, however, is god-awful.

Overall, The Batman is a good show on its own, but it pales in comparison to Batman: The Animated Series. Which was to be expected, since BTAS was as close to perfection as you could get.

I actually feel the opposite. I hated the new Bane, but liked the Joker. But, then again, I've always hated the Joker. I think it may be mostly due to his overexposure.

I don't like the new series very much. I watched the Joker, Penguin, and Bane episodes, and I tried to watch the Man-Bat one, but got bored and turned it off (I don't get WB, so I have to watch it on Cartoon Network). I'll tune in to see how they handle some of the other characters like Catwoman, Two-Face, Riddler, and Scarecrow, but I don't plan on watching it regularly.

I have seen episodes with the Joker, the Penguin and the Man-Bat. Like others, I enjoy Alfred the best but I'm not too crazy about the way the villains have been protrayed so far. I want to see the Catwoman episode. I do like the interaction between Batman and the two cops. The Batman is entertaining enough to keep me interested for thirty minutes but not so great that I panic if I miss an episode or two.

I found myself liking it a lot. I've seen the Joker, Catwoman and Penquin episodes. I thought I would dislike the Joker because of his admittedly bizarre costume but I found him not all that bad. I like the animation style as well, esp. of Bats himself. I wish they'd add a Robin for the next season, but that seems unlikely even thought they are bringing in Batgirl.

Not Robin, but they are adding Batgirl to the next season.

The ICP Joker makes me groan when i see him in ads, but thats what the kids want to see. The Penguin episode where he knows Bird-Fu had me LMAO.

This was one of the few things I disliked about the new Batman cartoon. All the villains seem to be physically powerful. When Batman catches up with the Joker or the Penguin, I expect the fight to be short and ugly, not just as deadly as a fight with Bane. :/

Other than that, I like the new show. I think it portrays Batman in an excellent light, mixing the tech, martial arts, and detective aspects of the character well.
