Nominate your MOST ANTICIPATED RPG of 2022

Not open for further replies.
As I do every year, I'm taking nominations for the MOST ANTICIPATED RPG poll for the coming year. Here is last year's Top 10 (spoiler: the joint winners were Dune and Twilight 2000). Previous winners include 13th Age (2013), Star Wars Force & Destiny (2015), Rifts for Savage Worlds (2016), Trudvang Chronicles (2017), Vampire: the Masquerade 5th Edition (2018), Savage Worlds Adventure Edition (2019), Dune (2020 & 2021), and Twilight 2000 (2021). What will be the most anticipated RPG of 2022?

We do this at the end of every year, and have done for several years now! Here's how it works:

We start with a nomination stage. That's this thread. You may nominate any standalone tabletop RPG due to be released to the general public in 2022. All nominated games will appear on the final ballot. To nominate a game, simply make a reply in this thread. A few rules:
  1. It must be a standalone tabletop RPG, NOT a supplement, setting, adventure, sourcebook, expansion, or accessory. If there is a QuickStart version, or a preview, it’s the full release that counts.
  2. It must be due out to the general public in 2022. The important date is the date the general public can purchase the book. That's not Kickstarter fulfillment dates or pre-orders.
  3. It must be nominated by at least one person in this thread. Simply post the name of the game and the name of the publisher below to nominate it.
  4. You can nominate up to two games. It's not a contest to see who can list the most games!
  5. Nominations will remain open for two weeks, until December 23rd. Voting will take place shortly thereafter.
  6. Not your own game or one you’re affiliated with.
  7. Include a link. Don't make me Google to try guess what you mean! No linky, no nommy.

Last year's joint winners were Dune and Twilight 2000 (pictured above). You can see last year's top 10 here. Sometimes products make it into the list in more than one year; what can I say? Product schedules slip!

I'd like to nominate Orbital Blue by SoulMuppet Publishing (KS Link). Backed the Kickstarter, saw a preview. But I haven't received my copy yet! It'll likely become available in 2022 if I had to guess. I'm very excited.

So apparently I'm confused by the rules of this.

The thread is about nominating games that will be released next year, 2022...but for a nomination to be valid it has to include a link where you can buy it now? So the game is released this year but we're anticipating it next year. What?

Folks are just getting it twisted, being too literal, etc. From the original post and what Morrus has said are valid nominations so far it seems like it has to be something with a reasonable expectation of being available for sale in 2022, and not solely as a Kickstarter reward. I imagine there are some potential judgement calls there--if a product says it'll ship to Kickstarter backers in December 2022, that might not be the best thing to include as a nomination. In fact, one of the reasons I mentioned Mothership 1e but didn't actually nominate it is because the current target for Kickstarter fulfillment is November 2022. That doesn't leave much cushion at all for it showing up at all in 2022, much less as something anyone can buy.
