Real tough decision but I've gone for the scout. My thinking is that while it's a fantastic variant on the ranger, it is still a variant. The duskblade and warlock however, crack new base class ground for me. Out of those two, I feel the warlock was particularly inspired.

Exactly my reasoning

I like the Warlock, I like the Scout,
I'm fond of the Duskblade, but something needs out.
I vote for the one I like the least,
So duskblade I hope you rest in peace.

Kill the scout! Warlocks and Duskblades 4 L1F3!

Seriously.. why the Duskblade hate?? I think that class is the greatest thing since sliced bread; finally a good Gish class from level 1.. no more having to go Fighter 2/Wizard 5/Spellsword 3/Eldritch Knight 10 and *finally* start to not suck around level 12.

OOOH! Waxing poetic! Well, lemme try something...

Plenty of fighter mages
Skirmish rules are cool
Keeping the warlock alive

I like the duskblade--I am, in fact, currently playing one--but I still voted for it to go. The scout and the warlock fill essential fantasy archetypes/niches far more than the duskblade does. Yes, you can get something similar to the scout with ranger and/or rogue--but it's only close, not quite. Frankly, I prefer the scout as the archetypal wilderness character, with rangers being far more rare and mystical. To use the old SAT format, "ranger is to druid as paladin is to cleric." I don't feel rangers should represent the "standard" wilderness character. The scout, however, is perfect for that.

Agreeing with the undead mouse. Voting for the Duskblade this time around.

I want to get help for taking out the Warlock next round. I think the Scout is a better version for the Ranger and would like to see the Scout replace the Ranger when 4e comes around. I love the magic system of the Warlock and would like to see some version of that for 4e - but there is just enough of the flavor stuff of the Warlock that irks me to make me want to keep the Scout as the final surviving class.

Duskblade and Warlock are both hot contenders, but I'm going to go with duskblade. The warlock is simply unappealing, whereas the duskblade is redundant, inflexible, and overly generous.

Buh-bye duskblade.

I've never played any of the three, and don't remember the details of their mechanics very well from my one read-through. :o That said, the concept of the Warlock is the least interesting to me, and a guy in my group who played one during a one-shot said it was problematic: potentially overpowered, yet also bland and boring to play. So based on that pretty flimsy evidence, I'm voting for the Warlock.
