[non-d20, MATRIX] Miss me, Mr. Anderson? (Game started, now ooc/discussion)

You're in, Kalanyr. I sent you the rules. Just 1 more slot left . . . ;) So far, the players are:

Page
Festy Dog (Ferret)
Dalamar
Bob Aberton
Kalanyr

Nice writeup, Festy, but could you describe what your RSI (residual self-image, it's what they call their body in the Matrix) looks like? In general, RSIs look just like the real guy but better, and they usually wear a trenchcoat.

Sure thing, I'll do that now.

Edit: Done :D

btw, if you need any information on the firearms Ferret carries just let me know ;)

Path
Matrix: 2
Real-World: 2
Mind: 1
Skill (+1): Martial Arts
Motivation: Find his lost love

Appearance:
Path looks like a person who hasn't heard of 'cleaning up'. He has shoulder-lenght greasy hair and a stub from a couple of days back. His demeanor is friendly if a little dreamy, like he wasn't living completely in the present.

Residual Self-Image:
Path's RSI has clean hair tied into a ponytail. His beard is shaved except for a small patch on his chin. His clothing is deep gray and his trenchcoat reaches just under his knees. He is also wearing black leather boots that almost reach his knees.
His favoured armement consists of two Desert Eagles holstered under his armpits, a 9mm pistol on his left thigh and a horizontally attached knife on his belt behind him.

History:
Before he was unplugged, Path was a learning martial artist, his choice being TaeKwon-Do. He had advanced quickly, devoting most of his time training and, lately, teaching beginners.
One day, when practising his moves, he felt something. Like something was amiss. He dismissed it as overtaxing his body.
Within hours, Agents came to question him. Since he didn't seem to know anything about the illusion surrounding him, he was left alone.
But only until he was offered the chance of realizing the thruth about the world. He took that chance.

On one of his missions, he made one big mistake: he fell in love with an unplugged. Samantha was her name and Path believed he could arrange her unplugging. How wrong he was.
Before things could be set up, Samantha's body was taken over by an Agent and Path had to flee.
It was a year ago. Path hasn't yet had the chance find out what happened to Samantha, nor has he seen the same individual agent again... yet.

I would like to try :) if I can join, my character will look like Zang Ziyi... and just well be a badass martial artist like everyone else :)

Lessee, two people threw their chip in before I could edit away the 1-slot-left . . Aargh, I hate decisions. :( Why don't both of you post a character, and I'll choose the one that seems more interesting. Toki, I sent you the .pdf. Thomas, I need to know your email to give you the file.

Festy Dog, do you have the firearms in real life? If not, then don't bother describing them yet. I'll run an armament scene in the Construct.

"We need guns. Lots of guns."

:D

Nice writeup, Dalamar. Useful motivation, and I like the contrast between Path's real appearance and his RSI.

Jeph, do you mean do I have them or does my character have them? I live in Australia so I'd get crucified for having those in my possession :p, then there's the matter of trying to get them somewhere. Ferret though... I don't know if he's got anything in the way of guns in Real-World.

Dalamar, if you're interested the DE comes in 4 calibres: .357 Magnum, .44 Magnum, .50 Action Express and (only since 2001) .440 Cor-Bon, a powerful hunting ammunition.

If you want a specific 9mm weapon I could dig one up for you, just tell me what you're looking for.

Jeph, if there's a limited selection of weapons for us free minds in the Construct just let me know and I'll be quiet ;).

Code
Matrix 2
Real-world 1
Mind 2
Skill (+1): Dodging
Motivation: Understand the Matrix

Appearance:
Code is a 24 year old, who has short cropped black hair and usually has dark rings under his eyes. He has long lanky arms and legs and a physique reminiscent of a programmer or a scholar being tall, thin and fragile looking. His green eyes seem older than his 24 years.

RSI
His RSI is almost a mockery of his normal self, having more muscles, no dark rings under the eyes and necklength uncropped hair. His arms and legs seem more coordinated. The green eyes are covered by a power of grey shades and his body is covered almost completely by a gray trenchcoat.

History:
Before being unplugged Code was a programmer for a large corporation, during his time in the Matrix especially dealing with computers somethings seemed subtly wrong, almost like things appeared where they hadn't been before yet were always there.
Intrigued Cypher began paying attention to these anomolies and even began to seek them out, unfortunately this led to his first encounter with an Agent, Code was incredibly lucky to get away with his life, and probably wouldn't have even managed that if a Free Mind hadn't been present, this lead to Code's unplugging.

Code had few remaining ties in the Matrix being an only child and his mother having died when he was in his teenage years and his father dying in a car crash when Code was 21. Having no really close people to cling to Code has decided that he will understand how the Matrix works and to save others from the horrible entrapment they are under.

Unless the number of ammunition that fits into a clip changes with the size, I think .44 Magnum sounds nice.
As for 9mm, a semi-automatic or automatic with a big clip would be nice.

Normally DE's have a single column clip and have less ammo as the calibre increases. 357 mag = 9 rounds; 44 mag/ 440 cor = 8 rounds; 50 AE = 7 rounds. Upon the subject of an auto 9mm pistol there's something in mind I can suggest: early models of the HK P9 series had selective fire option (semi and full auto) though they I don't think they make them in full auto any more. The recent models though are double action (not requiring the wielder to take the safety off before firing, one long pull of the trigger will do it for them).

Btw, I'm a shameless supporter of HK cos they're simply the best and have always displayed a degree of innovation way ahead of their time (the P9 was originally designed in 1965! I won't go into the details for this weapon cos ppl are sure to get bored). :D
