Nostalgia time with Dragon 400: The Jester

I had a feeling this would be an exact reprint (which I found easily enough hosted online via google), but a part of me secretly wished Mearls would turn this into a Thief build.

That doesn't mean it could never be done. I suppose it's an interesting look at past editions and I can't say I'm surprised or let down that it was just Mearls pulling one of his fave articles out to show. That's cool.

Still. . . it'd be a sweet build for the Thief.

Not sure what the purpose of this is. I am majorly disappointed. I have this article printed out. I have the Dragon CD. I was hoping to see, you know, some original content in Dragon 400, not reprints of existing material. Thumbs down.

Count me among the disappointed. I like the article well enough but I was hoping this was another build for the Bard or even a new class. *sigh* Oh well.

I'm not a DDI subscriber, but if I was I think I would incline this way.

I think it could be fun as a bard build or subclass (the controller or striker bard?) (And how close could you get to making it just with the bard as is, and a few new powers?)

BUT, I also love seeing it right here, without having to dig into my archives. I guess I am lazy that way.

Don't go "oh well". Write to WotC (either through e-mail or in their messageboards) and tell them you'd love to see a 4e version of the Jester. If enough people ask for it, I don't see why they wouldn't pursue it.
