5 Matess, 0200: Alten's Rock
A single scream pierced the night air in Alten's Rock--a single, horrible, blood-curdling scream that sent animals scattering away from where they had been scavenging, and sent people running into the street as torches were hastily lit.
A second scream, but this one was cut short. Those who heard the screams saw that they came from the direction of the Hog's Back Inn.
And then those who had lit torches were glad they had some sort of weapon at hand, as the undead started moving into the town. There were but a few of them at first: skeletons and zombies, obviously created by necromancers and barely under control. They came from the direction of the graveyard.

7 Matess, 0830: Near Alten's Rock
Dawn wakes you--or, at least, it wakes those who had not already been partially awakened by Trinket's hooting. Grinder notices that the owl is rather agitated, though by what, he is uncertain of. He gives Trinket a quizzical look, and the owl flies a hundred feet or so in the direction of the city, then turns and glides around a moment before lighting on a tree.
"I dare say," says Grinder, "That we should make all haste for Alten's Rock. I'm not certain what Trinket senses there, but he's more agitated than I've ever seen him."
And so, the party moves toward the Rock, wary of anything coming their way. As they near the end of the Hallis Road--and the gate to Alten's Rock--they note a small patrol of very slow humanoid guards standing around. It's pretty obvious to several of you that these are half a dozen zombies.
