Notebooks with the best keyboards?

A Wicked Kendragon
I'm trying to find a reasonably priced notebook for heavy writing. The problem is that I haven't been able to find one with a keyboard I could trust. Acer computers have keys that feel very fake and unresponsive, the Asus and LG ones I've tested are only a little better, and an HP I got my hands on gave slightly in on the left side (like there was empty space below the keys). Apple would be an option otherwise, but they are very expensive and I'd rather use a WinXP laptop.

Anyone have experience with ones that have reliable and durable keys?

I've been using a dell latitude for over 3 years now, no key problems. You've only got two more brand to test - Dell and IBM/Lenovo. Go over to the local computer store and start typing.

If you can't find one you like, get a notebook with bluetooth and a wireless keyboard that you like.

I use a Lenovo T60.

Before Lenovo took over the pc sales division of IBM, IBM notebooks were reputed to be the best keyboards in the business. I have worked on an A21, T23, T40, T40p, T42, T42p and a T43 - all made by IBM. They were all GREAT.

I now work on a Lenovo T60. There is a slightly noticeable difference to me, but the quality is still very good.

I have used/owned a handful of Compaqs (3), a G3 iBook, a WinBook, a Toshiba and a ProStar.

The IBM machines were the best, IMO.

Best keyboard ever for me has been my Toshiba Satellite 5200 series. Absolutely perfect.

I've recently retired it and replaced it with a Dell Inspiron 9400, which is OK (but not as good a keyboard as that tosh)
