Half a minute later, Keldar stumbles and chokes. She said "together", not "up", Keldar. You're imagining things. Keep it together. Mind on the job.

"A pity the bird was a little too gnawed to serve as our evening meal," says Keldar. He twirls a dagger about in each hand. "Shall we be on our way?"

"Yes, let us be about our business." Tommy takes the reins of Rhyaex and Bubbles in one hand and carries his crossbow (not loaded) in the other.

Keldar heads off near the front of the group. For a few minutes, his head turns from side to side, scanning beyond the road. But the weather is fine, and the sun warm, and before long, he is humming and whistling to himself. Soon enough, he breaks into song.

"One morning very early,
Adventurers set forth,
The finest that you’ve ever seen -
But they were headed north.

Along the road to Grenton,
You’ll find a different five,
They travel into peril.
I hope that they survive!"

Rapture blanches at the thought of pidgeon again, "Yes, we're doing no good standing around idle here."

Galwynn kicks a few rocks at Keldar. "Great. Now he's singing again. I thought he had enough of that in Orussus?"

With a scowl, he squints in the sunlight as he looks on ahead. "I don't know a whole lot about the creatures of the earth, but I do know that they don't usually attack a group that outnumbers them unless they're hungry, sick, or cornered. That thing already had a meal, so it wasn't hungry... and it ran when we hurt it, so it wasn't cornered. Think it was sick?"

He takes a look at Keldar and shakes his head ruefully. "Think it bit him, and that's why he's so odd? Of course, if that were true..."

Galwynn pauses for a moment and runs his hand down the stubble over his face. Running a hand through his knotted hair, he winces in mock pain. "if that were true, that Weasel must've bit him while he was still in the womb."

"I can't hear you all the way back there, Galwynn," Keldar calls, turning around to grin at the paladin stomping along behind Tommy and the horses. He winks at the mage.

"If ever you see Tommy,
Whose hair is flaming red,
Don’t mention that, or freckles,
Or you might end up dead!"

His face softens as he looks at the young blind woman.

"Samina is a gentle soul
She sees more with her heart
Than others see with both their eyes;
She knows the healer’s art."

"It was rather large for a weasel. Perhaps it was one of the more aggressive dire kind m'lord?" Rapture suggests to Galwynn.

"Keldar, do you know any freefolk songs? They were always good to travel by," Rapture asks.
