Interesting or intriguing games have seemingly been a bit light on the ground for the PC recently with most releases either being dull as dishwater sport sims or repetitive formulaic RTS and Beat Em Up games.. Not been any decent RPG's since Neverwinter and the KOTOR's, nor any descent Startegy (non RTS..) games in a long long while...

And I dont know about everyone else..but I miss my turn based games.. far too much fixation on RTS..everything flying by at 500mph no time to enjoy or plan..grrr
Even if you aren't a fan of of the Civ series, I'd recommend Civ IV. It is a tremendous game all around, especially if you are looking for some turn based fun.

Also playing UFO: Aftershock, which I would highly recommend to any fanx of X-Com.. though I would say wait until the patch is released as the game does have a few issues that are in the process of being resolved by ALTAR.

I heard the game is too simple unless you're fighting the greys then you have to save the game every step because they're crack shots and kill you in one shot.

Yeah, that's why I pretty much don't play PC games anymore, other than building games or sims. Even RPGs are getting too fast paced for me.

I am way behind everyone else here since I JUST got an X-Box yesterday (as a gift... amazing). I rented Fable and Van Helsing today and have the Halo Triple Pack (also part of the gift). Fable has been pretty cool so far. The truth is that I just suck at games were reflexes matter. Oh well, now that I have a system, maybe I will get better.

My last console system was a NES. Yup, that's right, the first one. Before that, I had an Atari 2600 and prior to that an orange Coleco thing that nobody else remembers. Heck, I just graduated from my 400 mhz Celeron this past spring to a more reasonable PC.

Just got the Dawn of War budget version and playing through the missions. Kinda easy and not as cool as Starcraft, but still fun (and nice graphics). :)

Bye

After beating my copy of Metroid Prime, one of my housemates has Paper Mario: The The Thousand-Year Door, and insisted I play it now (since I've finished most of my games). I've finished Chapter 1, and it's a great game. Now, if only I could fing what happened to my copy of Super Mario RPG: The Legend of the Seven Stars, I'd be set.

On the console front, i picked up Champions of Norrath the other day pretty cheap and once i finish my 12th (!) replay of Resident Evil 4 on my 'Cube i'll likely give Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction another go.

I'm just on my second go-round on Resident Evil 4. Adore that game.

Also playing Call of Cthulu: Dark Corners of The Earth (I despise the Gillman Hotel!), Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance (despise system branch combos, love Frost) and Final Fantasy II on the GBA.

I've always been cursed with Gamer-ADD :)

I very rarely finish what i begin. I think I average about 1-2 games a year that I actually finish. Most of those end up being RPGs that I'm able to stick with it... Right this second, I'm playing Radiata Stories and X-Men Legends 2 but then I look at my stack of unfinished business and a lil red devil pops on my shoulder saying to play something else... or WoW.

And that doesn't even begin to address the stacks of 'old-school' games I'd like to play again... too many games and too lilttle time... such is my lot in life.
