November and Beyond

Making him some sort of proto-celestial would only be good if they use the opportunity to detail the proto-celestials in an interesting way - giving them an actual distinct appearance, myth, and motives, so they're not just winged humans whose only distinguishing feature is "good."
:D How about winged oozes whose only distinguishing feature is 'good'? What about radiant plants?

Of course, either of these options might require a bit of reworking on Asmodous' past and description . . . .

That Gargantuan Blue Dragon is starting to look pretty neat!

That gargantuan blue dragon looks very very cool!

I'm also really looking forward to Fiendish Codex II -- the extracts were interesting to read. The tiles are also on my "to buy" list.

Cheers

What pre-Planescape products mention the Blood War?

I think it was first mentioned in MC 8 Outer Planes Appendix which reintroduced the fiends (and called them "fiends") as they were missed out of the first two Monstrous Compendiums.

Cheers

Yep, the Monstrous Compendium: Outer Planes Appendix.

Rip,

You pretty much summed up my feelings on that issue regarding "Ozzy" and his status. My own difference is that I actually didn't care that much for the Twin Serpent thing if only because it retconned everything that came before it. Even so, it's way more acceptable than just saying "I'm Asmodeus, fallen person." Fallen CG makes it interesting because, as I stated previously stated, it might allow "Ozzy" a chance to help the demons (especially Kochiteshe(sp), a chance to strike against them. Mostly I'll wait until December to make my judgments on this book when it comes out, not before.

So far if it follows Hordes in some fashion (IE not too crunch heavy, more Fluff), I'll be pretty happy.

As for being pessimistic, just read a few of Joe (Kushner)'s, posts. That should convince you otherwise. ;)

I gotta be honest.

That FCII 'excerpt' did very little to pique or even lower my interest level. It was simply there. Sure it's well-written and I guess it has some neat ideas, but in the grand scheme it says very little and muddles up a lot of things.

Pants,

Well maybe in December's excerpts we'll get a better feel for it. Even so I'm at least positive of one thing: It can't be worse than Races of Destiny! :p :)

I want to know what the "recipients of divine energy" line is supposed to mean. It seems poorly worded, but I guess they're saying that archdevils have the abilty to bribe their subordinates with godly power (in order to convince them to harvest souls instead of fighting in the Blood War). It seems odd that a rigidly lawful society would need to bribe its subordinates, however - wouldn't it be enough simply to order them?

Also, where do the archdevils get divine energy from? Are they gods themselves in this book, or are they secretly bleeding energy from the heavens?

I also want to know what "soul harvesting" is. I assume it's the process of converting petitioners into baatezu, but it might mean anything.

What are the CR ranges that you could use a Gargantuan Dragon for? I'm interested in getting one but only if I actually got to use it, not as a display piece only. I can picture my players' faces now as I put it down on the table. (Insert Evil GM laugh here) :]
