In the last episode they introduced the new female professor, who now heads the math department. She said a line in there about how when she was a student she used to play Dungeons and Dragons down in the steam tunnels.

This was probably a tongue in cheek reference to a certain old Tom Hanks movie, but what I don't remmeber is, was she in it as well?

I don't know her name, but if it helps she played the heavier set Nun in the Whoopi Goldberg movies (Sister ACT 1 and 2). Plus that recent Kirsti Ally series, and that old witch flick with her, Bette Midler, and I think Sarah Jessica Parker.

Her name is Kathy Najimy. Pretty face and has curves (lost some of her Sister Act weight).

Yep, thats her. According to the film history I looked at she wasn't in the Tom Hanks movie. So I wonder what prompted them to mention D&D?

Did they play in the steam tunnels in that movie? For some reason, the only steam tunnel reference I can recall is the Knights of the Dinner Table one.

What school is it? The steam tunnel thing was at Michigan State

I believe numbers is set in Berkley, or nearabouts.

It almost makes me think one of the writers visits ENWorld occasionally, because the "meet me in the Steam Tunnels at MSU" thing is one of Diaglo's favorite lines. ;)

More likely it was a reference to the J. Dallas Egbert case.

Kathy Nijimy gave a speach at MSU last year. I can't find the info but I get the idea she attended classes there.

The university on the show is CalSci.

I figured the D&D line was either a Mazes and Monsters reference, or the writers simply don't know what in the hell they're talking about.
