NWN/Graphics Card Problem

So... it was a hardware problem. Nothing else? Cool.

BTW, how did the connection got loose?

Well, it must have been when I was installing the card - the motherboard was not terribly accessible, so it must have been pulled loose when I was trying to move some ribbon cables out of the way. The CD was working before then, so that's really the only way it could have happened.

since your problem's been resolved, I hope you don't mind stealing your thread . . . I don't think this is on topic enough to start a new one.

A game I installed recently crashed (not NWN) and I had to physically restart the computer (push the button on the box) to recover the system (the first time I've ever had to do this in WinXP!). Unfortunately, since I've done that, my DVD/CD-ROM drive no longer will read any CDs or DVDs. The drive attempts to read discs inserted, but the light turns amber and the computer doesn't believe there's a CD in the drive. Luckily I have another drive (my burner) so I can play NWN, but this problem is seriously bothering me.

I've uninstalled the drive and Windows automatically reinstalled it, but it didn't help. I'm hoping someone here knows of a way to reset the drive and fix it.

Thanks in advance.
