NWN1 - New Beta Patch Adds Animated Cloaks

Steel_Wind

Legend
If you missed this one, BioWare released the beta 1.68 patch for NWN1 today.

In a nutshell, it adds new fully animated skinmesh cloaks to the game's default resources. It updates right bacl to the original Official Campaign. No muss - no fuss - no hak.

To use - equip a cloak in the cloak slot. POOF. Your character is now wearing a cloak.

There are 14 new cloak models in all, each of which an be colored however you like it. 10's of thousands of frames of new animations. We worked long and hard on this one. More info and links to download here: www.dladventures.com

Looks awesome SW!
With the dealy of NWN2 (which is a good thing) the new stuff for NWN1, suddenly NWN1 looks mightly tempting again.

I'm curious, have you guys experimented with magical cloaks like Cloak of the Bat or Cloak of the Mantaray?

With some scripting magic and the new scriptable Set_Wing, you could easily create a Cloak of the Bat. No problemo.

Getting the PC to fly? With a Set_Pheno containing altered a_ba anims above the z=0 baseline, you could simulate movement above the ground in the air - but it would not work the way you wanted it to.

Alrighty, I downloaded both the install and uninstall patches. Now, how do you get them to work? I mean where do you put em? Just slide them into the main folder or.....

I know the guys on the Live Team were really excited at the prospect of having this update come out. It's one they've been hoping to be able to share with other people for awhile. :)

Nope. There are a number of issues with the backwards compatibility of this patch so I don't know.

BioWare was to handle that aspect of implementation - so I'm not sure. We did the geometry, textures, icons and animations. Compatiblity and patching was up to the Live Team.

We implemented our cloaks as part of Wyvern Crown of Cormyr which you should expect around the end of the month. There are a lot more goodies in WCoC than just cloaks. Tons of content in there - more than any XP had for the game - and close to both combined. Yes, it includes our rideable horse system.

We are also extremely proud of the adventure itself. It clocks in at 20 hours + in length and while, yes, I'm biased as hell - I think it easily contends for the best overall module done for NWN. We pulled out all the stops. For the most part, NWN looks and feels brand new when you are playing WCoC.
