Oathbound - an overlooked setting?

Jim is making the final changes and tweaks to Wildwood. The development team has been going over it with one final proofing and trying to make it as error free as possible. As to whether it will be on RPGNow yet this week, I can't say for certain. But it should be very soon. There is light at the end of this tunnel. :)

It is our hope that we will have print copies of Wildwood, Lore of the Gods and Castlemorn at Gen Con. Wildwood and Lore of the Gods should both be available in pdf before then (I don't know if Studio 2 is releasing Castlemorn in pdf). The Oathbound Player's Guide will be released in the fall, probably late September or early October depending on how long it takes to do the art and layout. The book is currently in editing.

Any chance we can buy it this week?

How many critters are there? Any plant monsters?

Does it have that resort for the rich mentioned in PoP?

Is that civilization that kicked Hiael's (sp) butt in it?

1) Hopefully.

2) About 7. Yes there is a plant monster

3) Yes, a fairly good writeup too.

4) It's called Thebbylar.

So anyone want to discuss what is up with Bathkol? I was suprised at the amount of information given in W&R and Arena.

I haven't read W&R (and don't have Arena, yet), but I think he has become a Monk, and set himself up as an Ak'Haru-Kenaustin-type figure...

Well, I think it's pretty clear that Bathkol has broken free from the Oath of Binding. How is the obvious question. Coloptiron I is (apparently) also running around. It leads to two interesting questions. 1. What are they doing with their freedom? 2. Who's next?

Again, I haven't read Wrack and Ruin nor Arena, yet, but... why? Why would Bathkol need to have escaped his Oath of Binding? Just because he doesn't bring new creatures into the Forge? Remember, that was never part of the Oath in the first place! It was a loophole!

I think Colopitiron is...
Abbydon
! That would explain his never being seen, as well as granting spells!

Bathkol, I think, is raising his own race (Knuuks) to come and pick him off. Like Stephen R. Donaldson's Ak'Haru-Kenaustin, he sits atop a rock, somewhere in the middle of the ocean, and waits for some Harruchai to come along and challenge him, replacing him, once they succeed!

But that's just my opinion...

Because 900 years ago a group of adventurers kicked his butt and one of them replaced him (hints in W&R) and his skin is used as an artifact (Arena).

Heh! Okay... that explains it! :p I stand corrected... I wonder if the kicker was a Monk? ;)
