[Oathbound] Who's playing?

All of the stuff Darrin said above is acurate, as usual (grin) and I also wanted to add that at some point in the near future, Bastion will be releasing a PDF Oathbound adventure, written by myself and Ken Marable, entitled Horrors of Penance! It is in playtesting now and contains not one, but two, new Oathbound adventures and 13 top-shelf adventure hooks! :)

Hope you enjoy!

EDIT: NOW you know why I said what I said above.... :P

Yeah, I saw that you had an adventure coming out from reading the Oathbound board, Ashy. I didn't realize there were TWO. Hm.... So... between the main books and pdfs, I should be okay. I just SO prefer print books that I can keep separate. I'd even pay rpgnow to do POD's, but I guess they don't have permission from Bastion or some such...

Thanks!
Chris

Oops, I had almost completely forgotten about that :o

I look forward to finally seeing it.

Who among you all out there run a game in the Oathbound setting? And how is it?

Not running it, but playing it...

Israfel showed up, and "invited" us to come to her world. All the other *AHEM!*idiots*AHEM!* in the party agreed; my PC stopped to ask some questions... Next thing we know, we're stunned in the street, under two suns... Moments later, I shake it off to find what I would later learn was a "Boarclops" charging us, while the rest of the party was stunned.

Curse Mongoose! The GM was using their Quintessential Fighter rules, so I couldn't called-shot to the eye, because we're all seventh level (and don't have +10 BAB). So I Tanglefoot it, and it rolls EXACTLY what it needs to break free! (Grrr!)

After the rest of the party becomes unstunned, we finish it and two Orc-like critters off, and are fireballed by a Troll, who sends in the Lizardfolk shock-troops. I keep it too busy with Alchemist's Fire and acid to cast any more spells, and the Half-Orc Mercenary "kills" it, then runs off! I move in for the Coup de Grace, to keep it down, then search it, grab the gear, and move back outside to finish off the routing Liz.

We're now searching bodies and talking to Cyrene and some Green-cloaked Flollos, hoping to get out of this newly-claimed, ruined neighborhood. Meanwhile, Israfel is a block away, standing on the roof of a four-story, looking smug... I have the urge to "test" the Wand of Fireballs on her/it!...

Wouldn't recommend it. ;)

Btw I might be running an Oathbound game, so we'll see. :)

Hurm - sounds AWFULLY familiar! :p

I bought the book the day it arrived at the store and have read it here and there, enough to get the general idea. I like the setting, but am changing some of the people in it and some of the races to fit my needs. Other than that, and a couple of story line changes to do with its location, it will be a go for my party when they decide to head into it.

Right now, they know about it somewhat and are doing more research before jumping head first into it.
