Obscure LotR reference.....

One of Germany's most famous* Melodic Power Metal band "Blind Guardian" has made a concept album based on the Silmarillion. It is called "Nightfall in Middle-Earth". The same band also has made a song called "The lord of the rings".
[Their latest album has a song called "The soulforged" which is about Raistlin from The Dragonlance series].
There are more metal bands out there whose lyrics cover Tolkien themes, but most of them have are relatively unknown [Minas Morgul,...].

*I can't tell if anyone in the USA knows them, but they are really famous [read: for a metal band] in Europe & Japan. They even considered to contribute some songs to the "Lord of the Rings" [the movie] soundtrack, but decided against it because of their full time schedule. Unconfirmed rumors from movie fansites are that they would have had a not so small chance against Enya...

Another Zep "LotR" song that comes to mind is The Battle of Evermore also - the song mentions the Ringwraiths.

Which I've heard may be about the Battle of Pellenor Fields.

Another Led Zeppelin song that may have LotR references is "Over the Hills and Far Away." Damn good song as well.
